Our biggest takeaways from IBC 2026

Santa Clara, CA
October 7, 2026

It’s been nearly a month since IBC was held at the Amsterdam RAI, and one of the most encouraging signs of that time being well spent has been the fruitful conversations we’ve had post-show. But of course, the show itself gave many important insights.

‍

From great customer engagement to exciting new possibilities to explore, here are our most notable takeaways:

‍

Attendees are doing their homework

Most of our conversations were with both new and returning customers who had, prior to the show, made a meeting with us. If they hadn’t, those who visited our booth came specifically looking for us, rather than randomly stopping by while walking around the show.

‍

CEO and Founder, Ikuyo Yamada says, “I was happy to see that new customers came to our booth because they had heard positive things about Capella from people in their networks. That was a strong indication of the reputation our products have built in the market.”

‍

Conversations we had were intentional and detailed with many customers coming to us with very specific pain points they were hoping to solve with Cambria. Most chats focused on real requirements, specific use cases, and technical questions that customers prepared in advance to get actionable solutions for.

‍

Increase in building a complete, nuanced workflow

Rather than looking for one piece of the puzzle, we noticed that many customers were interested in both of our main product lines, Cambria FTC for transcoding and Cambria Stream for live encoding. In order to create seamless workflows, it seems like customers are more invested by the possibilities that come with a system that is built to work together.

‍

Another main area of interest was in improving existing workflows to make them more efficient by reducing manual processes and lowering overall costs. With staggering cloud computing costs proving to be a continuous challenge for many, customers are zooming out and considering how to build the entire workflow in a way that balances flexibility, efficiency, and pricing today more than ever.

‍

How are they doing this?

‍

They’re looking to understand how hybrid workflows that utilize on-premise and cloud-based environments can minimize costs while maximizing output. Luckily for our customers, Cambria is built to be completely compatible within its ecosystem whether the workflow is on-premise, cloud-based, or hybrid.

‍

Visual Workflow Editor was the star of the show

We were extremely excited to demo Visual Workflow Editor for the first time ever at IBC this year, and it certainly paid off. It quickly became clear that this was a great step in the right direction with how much enthusiasm it received and how the need for such a solution was even more common than we expected.

‍

Customers are attracted to the idea of making workflows easier to create, understand, and monitor. Capella is now working on utilizing the great feedback we got from conversations at IBC to improve the feature before our next release.

If you missed out on seeing our Visual Workflow Editor at IBC and want to see what all the excitement is about, schedule a demo today!

‍

The next show we will be exhibiting at will be InterBEE held at the Makuhari Messe in Japan, where we will have a joint booth with Yospace. We’ll be showing demos of the Visual Workflow Editor as well as joint SSAI/live streaming solutions with Yospace for achieving maximum revenue. Be sure to look out for more information on our website and LinkedIn page.
