Capella Systems today announced Cambria Stream Solo, a software-based, on-premises live encoding solution for broadcasters, production companies, service providers, and enterprise video teams operating fixed or semi-permanent live channels.

Cambria Stream Solo is designed for organizations that require professional live encoding while maintaining direct control of workflows on-site. It provides a practical alternative to cloud-based encoding for fixed channel lineups, regional services, contribution workflows, and 24/7 broadcast environments.

The Linux-based solution runs across a wide range of hardware platforms, offering a flexible deployment model that integrates easily into existing media infrastructure without the constraints of dedicated appliance-based encoders.

The product is available in three configurations:

- Stream Solo: 1 channel

- Stream Duo: 2 channels

- Stream Quad: 4 channels

Cambria Stream Solo supports professional inputs including SDI, SRT, UDP, RTMP, Zixi, NDI, HLS-TS, and media files. Output formats include CMAF, HLS, SRT, RTP, MP4/TS, RTMP/RTMPS, and Zixi, with SCTE-35 support for ad signaling and monetization workflows.

The platform can operate as a full stream origin or as a contribution encoder for Cambria Stream cloud engines, enabling both standalone on-prem deployments and hybrid architectures.

“Not every live encoding workload belongs in the cloud,” said Ikuyo Yamada, CEO of Capella Systems. “Cambria Stream Solo gives customers a simple, predictable, and cost- effective on-prem option, while remaining fully compatible with cloud and hybrid workflows.”

Cambria Stream Solo extends the Cambria product family, alongside Cambria FTC for file transcoding and Cambria Stream Pro for cloud and hybrid live streaming.
