San Jose, CA (April 7, 2017) – Capella Systems will show the latest versions of Cambria FTC 3.4 transcoding software and the Cambria Live 3.4 live broadcast and encoding suite in Las Vegas at the 2017 NAB Show from April 24-27. Cambria FTC 3.4 features an enhanced native motion-compensated frame rate converter that ensures the best quality conversions between NTSC and PAL, delivering smoother, more natural results. A new Dashboard tab has been added to the Cambria Manager that displays preview windows for current transcoding jobs, a recent activity log, and job status graphs. The Dashboard now gives operators all the information they need to know about ongoing jobs and the performance of each machine in the Cluster at a glance.

Cambria FTC 3.4 was recently recognized by Streaming Media magazine as the only standalone enterprise application capable of per-title encoding optimization ( Cambria FTC’s scriptable workflow automatically adjusts the bitrate ladder used for DASH, HLS, or Smooth Streaming based on the complexity of the source video files.

Cambria FTC 3.4 will also include official support for Dolby E, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Loudness Management.

“Many of our broadcasting customers have requested Dolby audio technologies, and we are pleased to announce their inclusion in Cambria FTC,” says Capella CEO Ikuyo Yamada.

Enhanced text recognition in Cambria FTC 3.4 now provides greater detection accuracy and automatically identifies text on slates as well as end credits.

“Capella is constantly focused on developing innovative features that help customers achieve a more efficient and effective workflow at a reduced cost. Our new text recognition upgrade allows users to index and organize content with much less effort,” adds Yamada.

The Cambria Live 3.4 broadcast suite includes an upgraded Facebook streaming feature with geoblocking support. Cambria Live’s enhanced controller plug-in framework makes it easy to integrate Cambria Live into your existing playout and ad scheduling systems to mix live and on-demand assets.

All Cambria products also now support activation-based software licensing for use in cloud environments. This floating license scheme allows users to activate and deactivate licenses across machines in the cloud so they can maximize output and reduce the number of unused workstations.
