San Jose, CA (Aug 30, 2019) – Capella Systems will attend IBC 2019 in Amsterdam from September 13-17 to demonstrate Cambria FTC 4.3 and the latest update to its Cambria Live series of streaming production and distribution products. Please visit Capella Systems in the RAI Convention Center at booth 3.A46 to get a hands-on demonstration of both Cambria product lines and their new features.
Cambria FTC is a next-generation, scalable transcoder employed by video production professionals worldwide. The enhanced streaming exporter in Cambria FTC’s recent update, version 4.3, allows encoding and packaging to HLS, MPEG-Dash, CMAF and Microsoft Smooth Streaming with advanced support for Irdeto Rights, Yospace SSAI and Brightcove SSAI solutions.
Cambria FTC’s new Packager quickly and efficiently imports elementary streams and exports them to various ABR formats while preserving or inserting SCTE-35 markers for ad pod insertion. It also integrates with Irdeto’s multi-DRM solution.
“Cambria FTC Packager is a highly customizable and cost-effective solution that easily adapts to your existing workflows with minimal changes,” says Ikuyo Yamada, CEO of Capella Systems.
Cambria FTC 4.3 supports Dolby Atmos audio within multiple video file formats utilizing the latest Dolby SDK and integrates within the Avid workflow, natively ingesting and exporting Avid files. This version includes the latest improvements to Capella’s motion-compensated frame converter, yielding best-ever results in frame-rate-conversion quality.
“We are constantly making improvements on very fundamental, yet highly complex, video compression technologies such as frame-rate conversion,” says Martin Belleau, CTO of Capella Systems, “as conversion quality is a topic that never becomes obsolete for our customers.”
Updated features within the Cambria Live software-based live production, encoding and distribution suite are also showing at IBC. Cambria Live 4.3 supports Brightcove SRT and Brightcove RTP output for stable delivery of live streams to the Brightcove platform. It supports Azure timed metadata (SCTE-35) in RTMP, making Cambria Live compatible with Azure cloud solutions.
The new Cambria Live Packager ingests live streams and packages them to HLS, MPEG-Dash and Microsoft Smooth Streaming while maintaining SCTE-35 signals. It also supports Japan’s widely adopted ARIB STD-B39 standard for ad signals.
“Ad insertion is a key feature for our enterprise-level customers,” adds CEO Yamada. “Cambria Live and Cambria Live Packager can be custom installed within their workflows, enabling users to handle the ad insertion process with ease.”
Finally, Cambria Live 4.3 supports Amazon’s AWS MediaTailor and AWS MediaStore, allowing users to ingest and output streams directly from Cambria Live.
