Cambria FTC 4.2, Capella’s scalable universal transcoding software, now integrates with Avid’s SDK. Users can create Avid MXF OP-Atom files from multiple sources with AAF file for direct import into Avid’s Interplay Web service.

Capella has added a feature in Cambria FTC 4.2 supporting the creation of SCTE-35 markers to mark the placement of an ad pod. Cambria FTC 4.2 can import video files and a separate metadata file with ad cue points and encode them to MP4 and TS files with SCTE-35. Capella’s new Cambria Packager can import those files and create HLS, MPEG Dash and CMAF files, while preserving SCTE-35.
“Combining the SCTE-35 insertion feature in Cambria FTC with our new Cambria Packager allows users to create adaptive streams from their broadcasting file formats more efficiently,” says Yamada. “Our new Cambria Packager is a powerful tool for dynamic and static packaging for OTT delivery.”
Cambria FTC 4.2 also includes a new hybrid load-balancing feature that moves file processing to the cloud when an on-premises Cambria Cluster reaches maximum capacity. This allows users to handle peak transcoding volume without having to invest in additional permanent transcoding nodes.
Many major Japanese broadcasters have adopted Cambria Live Broadcast Manager to handle automated live streaming workflows with commercial ad insertion in concert with major server-side ad insertion (SSAI) providers.
Cambria Live 4.2’s powerful new tool, Cambria Live Ad Break Control, allows an operator to dynamically insert ad breaks into a broadcast system as they monitor multiple live streams. Cambria Live Ad Break Control routes ad insertion cues to Cambria Live Broadcast Manager where programming is encoded into MPEG-Dash, HLS and CMAF with SCTE-35 for SSAI.
Cambria Live 4.2 is now fully integrated with Yospace, which allows Cambria Live Ad Break Control to provide real-time viewership numbers on your feeds so you can place ad breaks on your most popular channels. Furthermore, its Yospace prefetch support lets you prepare breaks ahead of time for live events you project to have high viewership.
